The Sydney St. Patrick’s Day Organisation would like to thank all those in the local community that supported the committee over the past twelve months and we look forward to your continued support for 2018 and beyond. We also thank our Corporate Sponsors, the Irish community and the volunteers who worked so hard this year.
The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Organisation will hold it’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 18th July at the Gaelic Club, 64 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills at 7 pm. At this meeting we will be looking to elect a new committee for 2018. We invite members of the community to come along and join our committee; it is not possible to hold any events or the main Sydney St Patrick’s Day celebrations without volunteers and new committee members.
We will continue to hold fundraising events throughout the year including the Christmas Ball, which was a sell out in 2016. Details of date and venue will be available soon.
The St. Patrick’s Day festivities afford us a special opportunity to deepen and celebrate the bonds of heritage and affection that unite the global Irish diaspora and its friends around the world. The Sydney St. Patrick’s Day Organisation is completely made up of volunteers from the Irish Australian Community.
The Organisation’s President Robert Kineavy said “The committee have worked extremely hard to organise the 2017 event which unfortunately didn’t go ahead as planned and we endeavor to continue our efforts to revive the Sydney St. Patrick’s Day celebrations for 2018”.
Please come along to our Annual General Meeting and have your say on the future of St Patrick’s Day celebrations. For all inquiries please contact Robert Kineavy on 0403 756 656 or contact us via our website www.sydneystpatricksday.com.au
